Holtz leads hall of honor class

Former football coach Lou Holtz and eight former Razorbacks athletes will be inducted into the University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor in September.

Besides Holtz, the other inductees are Greg Lasker and Danny Rhodes of football, basketball’s Oliver Miller and Tom Pickell, baseball’s Kendrick Moore, softball’s Tammy Kincaid Dustin, track and field’s Roddie Haley and Christin Wurth-Thomas.

Holtz coached Arkansas from 1977-1983, compiling a 60-21-2 record. Holtz went on to coach at Minnesota, Notre Dame and South Carolina, finishing with a 249-132-7 collegiate record.

Miller played for the Razorbacks from 1988-1992 and was selected in the first round of the 1992 NBA Draft by the Phoenix Suns.
