Hogs Suffer DVH-Era First in Agonzingly Close Rubber Match Loss to Georgia

Despite some late dramatics, the Razorbacks came up just short in a wild rubber match that capped a Arkansas vs Georgia series that lived up to the hype.

After trailing for much of the game, Wehiwa Aloy tied it up with a two-out home run in the ninth to force extras and No. 1 Arkansas even took the lead in the 11th, but the No. 7 Bulldogs answered with a two-out RBI double by Tre Phelps to keep it going and then won it 7-6 on a walk-off homer by Henry Hunter in the 12th.

It was Phelps’ first hit of the series after returning from a hamstring injury that caused him to miss eight games before this weekend and it was Hunter’s first home run since hitting four in Georgia’s SEC-opening series against Kentucky a month ago.
