FAYETTEVILLE — Nos. 1 and 2 in the Arkansas lineup share the same order as the Razorbacks’ best hitters through the first quarter of the season.
Christian Franklin is batting .426 this season, just ahead of Heston Kjerstad’s .424 average. Franklin batted leadoff in Arkansas’ two wins over South Alabama on Saturday and Sunday, and Kjerstad was second in the batting order.
The two came up with several of the Razorbacks’ top hits over the weekend - none bigger than in the ninth inning of Sunday’s finale when Franklin singled with two outs, and Kjerstad followed with a game-ending home run to give Arkansas a 5-3 victory.
