Most fans probably view Ethan McElvain as the latest big-time arm Arkansas has reeled in from the portal. To Cam Kozeal, though, his transfer will be a reunion with an old fishing buddy.
The left-hander was a top-50 recruit in the same Vanderbilt signing class as Kozeal and the pair had promising freshman campaigns playing in Nashville with the Commodores in 2024. Now they’ll be together again with the Razorbacks next season.
“I think Arkansas will be a great fit for (McElvain)…just being able to kind of lean into that more blue collar side of himself,” Kozeal said following a practice during the College World Series in June.
