It appears Arkansas football has only signed one prospect from New York City, but on Tuesday it took steps in trying to land another when the Razorbacks offered offensive lineman Armon ‘Big Baby’ Bethea.
Running back Orlando Mitjans of Beach Channel High School in Queens signed with Arkansas and football coach Lou Holtz in 1978.
Bethea, 6-6, 310 pounds, of Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, talked to Razorbacks offensive line coach Brad Davis and was offered a scholarship on Tuesday. He also holds offers from Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Kansas, West Virginia and others.
