Hardwood-to-gridiron Marshall loads up on offers

Few prospects have shown up on the radar of college coaches as quickly as receiver Chris Marshall.

In his first year to play football, Marshall accumulated more than 15 scholarship offers after an outstanding junior season. He received his first offer from Houston after only six games.

Marshall, 6-3, 190 pounds, of Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall, now has offers from Texas, Baylor, Texas A&M, Southern Cal, Missouri, TCU and others.

Arkansas offensive coordinator Kendal Briles and newly hired receivers coach Kenny Guiton offered him on Jan. 11.

“He was straight basketball,” said Fort Bend Marshal coach James Williams.
