Full team performance lifts Arkansas soccer over Mississippi State, into SEC first place

FAYETTEVILLE — The No. 7 Arkansas soccer team did not panic.

Not when No. 13 Mississippi State grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of Sunday’s match at Razorback Field. Not when the Bulldogs saw a long-range shot smack the crossbar. Not when Zoe Susi stepped up for a crucial penalty — which she cooly finished to Bulldogs goalkeeper Sarah Wommack’s left.

Instead, in what might have been their most important match of the season thus far, the Razorbacks had arguably their best overall team performance.

Arkansas defeated Mississippi State 4-2, avenging a 1-0 loss in Starkville, Miss.
