Fouls and injuries, not fatigue, key to Hogs’ latest loss

FAYETTEVILLE — Eric Musselman’s less is more philosophy added up beautifully in the Razorbacks’ November/December nonconference games and early January start to the SEC basketball schedule.

It didn’t compute so well last Wednesday night against South Carolina.

Arkansas first-year coach Musselman asserts that less is more regarding rotations off the bench, comparing the young collegians currently playing half the games of the NBA teams he used to coach employing some deep into their 30’s veterans nursing maladies from longtime wear and tear.

A seven man rotation, maybe eight at times, suits him fine. Playing guard Jalen Harris and forward Reggie Chaney off the bench behind regular starters forward Adrio Bailey and guards Jimmy Whitt, Isaiah Joe, Mason Jones and Desi Sills has profitably proven his Arkansas comfort zone on an uncomfortably short roster.
