Former UA Head Coach Pulled Into Point-Shaving Scandal alongside Three Native Arkansans

Despite its natural beauty, Arkansas often gets the reputation of being a flyover state.

But the latest gambling scandal to rock college athletics couldn’t quite pass over the Diamond State.

A trio of Little Rock natives were among the 20 individuals indicted Thursday morning as part of an ongoing FBI investigation into alleged point shaving by dozens of college basketball players.

The case alleges that 29 college basketball games from 2023-25, along with Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) matches, were rigged. No former or current Razorbacks have been directly connected, charged or otherwise implicated.

CBA games were the first to be fixed in 2023, with college games following.
