Arkansas football interim coach Bobby Petrino’s seven games in charge this season are essentially an audition for the full-time gig.
The Razorbacks have looked much better in narrow losses to No. 12 Tennessee and No. 4 Texas A&M, but moral victories likely won’t be enough for Petrino to earn a second stint as the Head Hog. With winnable home games against unranked Auburn and Mississippi State on tap, the 64-year-old will need his team to find a way into the win column.
For Auburn football coach Hugh Freeze, the stakes are even higher. The Tigers have started SEC play 0-4, placing the embattled head coach on a scorchingly-hot seat.
