FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas baseball standouts Zach Root and Charles Davalan both signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, according to MLB.com.
They were both selected by the Dodgers in the first round of the MLB Draft with the 40th and 41st overall picks, respectively. Root signed for $2.2 million and Davalan for $2 million, Jim Callis of MLB.com reported.
Root, a left-handed pitcher, spent the 2025 season with the Razorbacks after beginning his career at East Carolina. He was named All-SEC with 126 strikeouts and a 3.62 ERA in 99 1/3 innings of work.
