Former Arkansas baseball player Luke Bonfield hired as assistant coach at Pitt

Former Arkansas baseball player Luke Bonfield was hired Monday to an assistant coaching position at Pittsburgh.

Bonfield, who will turn 30 on Sunday, will serve as the Panthers’ recruiting coordinator, work with outfielders and assist with offensive game plans and strategies, according to a press release.

“We are extremely excited to welcome Luke and his wife, Kathryn, to the Pitt Panther baseball family,” Pitt coach Mike Bell said in a statement. “Luke’s energy and passion for recruiting and developing student-athletes will be a great addition to our staff’s pursuit of competing for championships and representing Pitt to the highest standards.
