FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas right-handed pitcher Jaxon Wiggins was selected to play in the MLB All-Star Futures Game on July 12 at Truist Park in Atlanta.
Wiggins will be representing the Chicago Cubs organization. He is currently playing for the Class AA Knoxville Smokies, a team that also includes former Razorback catcher Casey Optiz.
Now in his second professional season, Wiggins has a 2.09 ERA and 0.994 WHIP in 60 1/3 innings pitched with 74 strikeouts and 27 walks.
Wiggins was selected by the Cubs in the second round and 68th overall pick of the 2023 MLB Draft.
