As if it needed to, the “Arkansas baseball is cursed” crowd strengthened its argument Friday night.
The No. 5 Razorbacks seemed to be on cruise control when a fluky error swung momentum the other way and carried unranked, yet now-surging Florida to a 6-4 win in the series opener at Condon Ballpark in Gainesville, Fla.
“Baseball’s a fragile game, man,” Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn said. “You make some little mistakes, teams can hurt you and that’s what happened tonight.”
Since piling up a school-record 12 straight SEC wins and climbing to No. 1 in all of the national polls, Arkansas (36-8, 13-6 SEC) has lost five of its last six conference games.
