Flashback Friday: A Big Day for Madre

Sept. 30, 1995

Arkansas was flying high in the fall of 1995, having won its first two SEC games, one of which was the school’s first victory over Alabama.

Following a victory over Memphis, the Razorbacks headed further east on I-40 towards Nashville, where they would cruise past Vanderbilt to move to 4-1 heading into October.

Madre Hill rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns and Arkansas’ defense blanked Vanderbilt until midway through the fourth quarter as the Razorbacks earned a 35-7 victory over the Commodores at Nashville on Sept. 30, 1995.

Hill ran 20 yards for Arkansas’ first touchdown and 12 yards for the second as he became the first Razorback in eight years and only the seventh Hog ever at that time to gain as many as 200 yards in a game.
