The transfer portal doesn’t officially open until Friday, so Arkansas football coach Ryan Silverfield did things the old-fashioned way to land his latest commitment.
Coffeyville (Kan.) C.C. defensive lineman Antonio Sandel-Bascomb pledged to the Hogs on Monday, becoming Arkansas’ first JUCO product of the Silverfield era.
The rising redshirt junior posted 29 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 8 tackles for loss and 1 pass breakup in 8 games for the Red Ravens this season. The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder has two years of eligibility remaining.
Sandel-Bascomb was committed to Silverfield at Memphis, but backed off that pledge in early December after he left for Arkansas.
