FAYETTEVILLE — It’s hard to miss Lance Staggs in the Hog Pen at Baum-Walker Stadium, particularly during the seventh-inning stretch.
Staggs sits on the front row with many other regulars in the outfield. During the stretch, he stands up and beckons to his friends — of which there are many — with a signature call. The kid-friendly version: “Get your butts up, you sons of guns!”
He then takes bunches of photos with the people around him. He calls them “stretch selfies,” and they include friends old and new and, sometimes, people he’s never met. Staggs doesn’t mind either way.
