Double Whammy from LSU Coach’s Questionable Decision Not Enough for Hogs in Game 1

A questionable decision by Jay Johnson might not have been enough to help the Razorbacks win the Arkansas vs LSU opener, but may have hurt the Tigers’ long-term outlook.

Ethan Frey’s sacrifice fly was just deep enough for Jared Jones to slide in safely ahead of Ryder Helfrick tag to give No. 3 LSU a 5-4 win over No. 7 Arkansas at 1:17 a.m., ending a 10th-inning thriller that was delayed for nearly 2.5 hours Friday night because of rain.

The Tigers will certainly take the walk-off victory, but what unfolded a few innings earlier certainly shouldn’t be ignored.
