The Arkansas football season is inching toward its merciful end.
The Razorbacks, now losers of nine consecutive games and winless for over a year in SEC play, were decimated by No. 17 Texas 52-37 on Saturday in Austin. Arkansas (2-9, 0-8 SEC) has one game remaining — against Missouri next Saturday at Reynolds Razorback Stadium — before turning its full attention to the offseason.
But the blowout defeat to the Longhorns gave some potential glimpses into the future — beyond ESPN’s Pete Thamel saying the Arkansas coaching search had culminated around head coaches Alex Golesh (South Florida), Ryan Silverfield (Memphis) and Eric Morris (North Texas) and Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack.
