Danny Ford gives warning for Arkansas football entering Memphis game

MEMPHIS — Former Arkansas football coach Danny Ford has an explicit warning for the current Razorbacks: They’d better buckle it up for Saturday’s 11 a.m. Central kickoff at Memphis.

“The only thing I can tell those boys is they better hang on because Memphis is going to play awful hard, just like SMU or anybody else in the old days that played Arkansas,” Ford said.

The Razorbacks (2-1) take on Memphis (3-0) of the American Conference at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, where Arkansas defeated Texas Tech 39-26 last December in the Liberty Bowl.

“It’s going to be a tremendous opportunity on a national stage to continue to showcase who we are and what we’re all about,” sixth-year Memphis coach Ryan Silverfield said.
