Could new Arkansas gun law jeopardize Razorbacks’ SEC membership?

Last week, Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed into law a bill which allows for the concealed carry of firearms with a permit on college campuses and other public areas in that state where concealed carry had previously been prohibited. The bill includes sporting venues. The bill includes 72,000 seat Razorback Stadium.

Shortly following the bill’s signature, a new piece of legislation (Senate Bill 724) was introduced in Arkansas exempting sporting venues. That legislation passed the state senate, but has received push-back in the house and has yet to pass there.

“I’m hearing from my colleagues that are on the committee that they’re receiving hundreds and sometimes thousands of emails against Senate Bill 724,” Arkansas State Representative Charlie Collins told “SportsTalk with Bo” host Bo Mattingly on his statewide radio show in Arkansas on Tuesday.
