Commentary: Jackson Wells' long college journey will end playing for boyhood team

RazorJack is back.

Everyone in Rogers is pumped and Razorback Nation will get that feeling when they see Jackson Wells pitch next spring in an unexpected fifth year of college baseball.

Wells grew up watching Arkansas baseball. A Rogers two-way star with a state championship ring, Wells probably watched more Oklahoma Sooners games — mostly football — with his parents, but he was exposed to the Razorbacks a lot.

There were Arkansas baseball camps as an elementary kid. Dad Jason and grandfather Don Mallow took him to his first Razorback game thanks to some gifted tickets from his third grade teacher.
