Commentary: Harold Horton was Razorback royalty

True icons don’t need full names. If you are a card-carrying member of Razorback Nation and you said Frank, Nolan, Eddie, Lou, Norm or Ken, there was little doubt you were talking about a legendary Arkansas coach.

In my inner circle, it was similar if you mentioned Harold Horton. He died Saturday at 85.

He was a team captain for Frank Broyles, then an assistant for Broyles and Lou Holtz. He later served on Danny Ford’s staff and would eventually lead the Razorback Foundation.

Maybe it was Harold to some, or just Coach Horton for others.
