The Utah trip to fish the Green River below Flaming Gorge Reservoir was planned months ago, long before the Arkansas-Tennessee baseball pairing for the NCAA super regiona could be imagined. It was unfortunate timing.
There was no turning back on the bucket list fly fishing trip. Bruce Ritter and I checked every box and hit everything — weather, water level and the bite — just about perfect. I’ll write another column about that later. It was as epic for me as sweeping Tennessee was for Razorback Nation.
However, writing about Cam Kozeal is more important today. My fishing buddy and Arkansas baseball star — and let’s keep it in that order — is going home to Omaha as the conquering hero with his Razorback teammates.
