FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas freshman left hander Hagen Smith earned a national pitcher of the week honor Tuesday from the College Baseball Foundation.
Smith pitched seven scoreless innings during the Razorbacks’ 4-0 victory over LSU last Friday at Baum-Walker Stadium. He allowed 2 hits, walked 1 and struck out 7 during his 98-pitch outing.
Smith was also named SEC freshman of the week.
The College Baseball Foundation also announced its Pitcher of the Year watch list Tuesday, which includes Arkansas junior right hander Connor Noland and 66 others.
The SEC leads all conferences with nine pitchers on the watch list.
