Chuck Barrett was right.
The Arkansas football and basketball play-by-play commentator found himself in a bit of hot water with the fan base and perhaps even his employer Friday after some remarks he made on the Chuck and Bo radio show Thursday. Reactions were swift and defensive.
Barrett ostensibly said Arkansas fans who live in the past are nonsensical. Only, Barrett said it in a more belittling fashion.
“When someone says ‘I refuse to settle for mediocrity,’ that right there is on the level of ‘I used to play high-school football,’” Barrett said. “I mean, the minute someone says ‘I’m not going to accept mediocrity,’ you are done.
