After a flurry of football decommitments following the firing of Sam Pittman, Arkansas basketball coach John Calipari was able to deliver some good news to weary Razorback fans with the commitment of four-star wing Abdou Toure.
The 6-foot-5, 200-pounder is a consensus top-40 prospect ranked No. 34 in the nation by 247Sports’ composite ladder. A native of West Haven, Conn., Toure chose Arkansas over Providence and UConn, and also held offers from Alabama, Louisville, Oregon and others.
“Toure is a powerful athlete on the wing who is an absolute wrecking ball going to the rim,” 247Sports scouting director Adam Finkelstein wrote.
