FAYETTEVILLE — California transfer infielder Tianna Bell committed to the Arkansas softball team Wednesday.

Bell is the first transfer addition for the Razorbacks this offseason.

The Antioch, Calif., native was an All-ACC second team selection as a junior this season. She batted .347 with 15 home runs, 10 doubles and 54 RBI.

Bell started all 58 games and played first base. She had a .991 fielding percentage with 3 errors in 319 total chances.

Bell will be playing for Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel, who was a star catcher at Cal from 2000-03.

Adding Bell’s powerful bat is part of the Razorbacks’ plan to replace graduated sluggers Bri Ellis (26 home runs last season) and Courtney Day (16), who accounted for 57% of the team’s homers.
