Sometimes, it’s best to just let sleeping dogs lie.
Many of former Arkansas football coach Sam Pittman’s best moments as the Head Hog came with offensive coordinator Kendal Briles as his top lieutenant. The 42-year-old was at Arkansas for the first three years of Pittman’s tenure, guiding the Hogs to the seventh best rushing attack in the country in both 2021 and 2022.
In a lot of ways, Briles’ departure coincided with the downfall of Pittman’s regime. The Hogs’ offense wasn’t perfect under his direction, by any means, as red zone struggles and questionable third-down playcalling had many fans wanting to pull their hair out at times.
