Bobby Petrino discusses early days of his interim Arkansas football tenure

FAYETTEVILLE — Speaking Wednesday on the SEC coaches teleconference, Arkansas interim football coach Bobby Petrino said he had a productive first team meeting with players Monday, the day after Sam Pittman was fired as the Razorbacks’ head coach.

“I thought it went very well,” Petrino said. “We got a lot on the table. There’s some hurt feelings, obviously, with Coach Pittman not being here anymore and [fired defensive assistants Travis Williams, Marcus Woodson and Deke Adams] not being here anymore.”

The hurt feelings apply to the 64-year-old Petrino, too, he said.

“I came here to coach the quarterbacks, coordinate the offense.
