Barry Lunney Sr. Has a Wake-Up Call for Arkansas That Bret Bielema Has Already Heeded

The last name Lunney is synonymous with football in the state of Arkansas.

Barry Lunney Sr. is one of the state’s most legendary high school football coaches, racking up 248 wins and eight state titles in a 28-year career. His father John played for the Razorbacks back in the 1940s, and his eldest son, Barry Jr., started 40 games at quarterback for Arkansas from 1992-95, including the 1995 SEC championship game.

The youngest Lunney in that bunch was also an assistant coach for the Hogs from 2013-19, serving as the program’s interim head coach for the final two games of the 2019 season after Chad Morris was given the boot.
