FAYETTEVILLE — It has not been the start that Jonesboro wanted, but Arkansas three-star linebacker pledge Marco Avant (6-3, 212 pounds) and the Golden Hurricane get a chance to turn things around Friday night.
Jonesboro (1-2), the Class 6A-East favorite, according to Hooten’s Arkansas Football, visits Sheridan (1-3) to start conference action.
“We have suffered two losses to two 7A schools (Cabot and Conway),” Avant said. “I feel like that the level of competition is going to help us now the we are getting into conference play.”
Avant, who has 33 tackles, 3 sacks and another tackle for lost yardage through 3 games, made the move from Forrest City to Jonesboro at the first of the year.
