Ash hired as Arkansas football consultant

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas has hired former Montana State head coach Rob Ash as an offensive consultant.

Ash spent the past nine seasons as head coach at Montana State, a member of the NCAA's Football Championship Subdivision. He led the Bobcats to a school-record 70 wins, four playoff appearances and three conference championships during his tenure.

Montana State was third in the FCS with an average of 519.8 yards and 41.9 points per game last season, but Ash was fired after posting a 5-6 record.

“We are very excited to add another quality coach with head coaching experience to our program,” Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said.
