The No. 10 Arkansas women's golf team is tied with Florida for first place, each at 8-under, after the first round at The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club (Par 72) in West Point, Miss.
Junior Abbey Schutte fired Arkansas' lowest round of the day, a 3-under 69, and is 1 shot behind a trio of leaders after the first 18 holes. Schutte birdied 3 times on the front 9 and 3 times on the back 9, but recorded up a double-bogey at the par-4 fourth hole and a bogey at the par-4 18th.
Senior Reagan Zibilski (-2, T7) and junior Maria José Marin (-2, T7) each shot a 2-under 70 in the opening round and each recorded a first-round eagle.
