Arkansas’ Win vs NDSU Answers One Question, Raises Another

FAYETTEVILLE — Cam Kozeal delivered the three biggest swings of the day, but it was small ball that really helped Arkansas avoid an upset loss to North Dakota State on Friday.

The No. 3 seeded Razorbacks used a pair of sacrifice flies to answer the Bison’s early punches, plus added a couple of bunts and a stolen base en route to a 6-2 win in the Fayetteville Regional opener at Baum-Walker Stadium.

It was probably closer to what Arkansas baseball coach Dave Van Horn envisioned when he called for a philosophical shift around this time last year, following another disappointing home regional exit, but it hasn’t been the recipe used to compile a now 44-13 record and finish second in the SEC.
