FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas shortstop Wehiwa Aloy was named winner of the 2025 Golden Spikes Award on Saturday.
Aloy was presented with the award on the field at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha prior to Game 1 of the national championship series between LSU and Coastal Carolina. Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn and assistants Nate Thompson and Bobby Wernes were among those in attendance.
Aloy became the Razorbacks’ third winner of the award, which is presented by USA Baseball to the national player of the year. Former Arkansas outfielder Andrew Benintendi won in 2015 and pitcher Kevin Kopps won in 2021.
