Arkansas softball overcomes big deficit, walks off Oklahoma State in 8 innings at NCAA Fayetteville Regional

FAYETTEVILLE — This time a year ago, Courtney Day didn’t know if she would play college softball ever again.

One year later, Day, the Arkansas softball team’s steady utility player, delivered one of the biggest hits in program history.

Day hit a walk-off, RBI single in the eighth inning to complete a 6-5 comeback victory over Oklahoma State at the NCAA Fayetteville Regional.

It was the finishing touch on Arkansas rallying to overcome a 5-1 deficit over the final 3 innings.

The Razorbacks (42-12) advanced to Sunday’s regional championship. They will face the winner of Saturday’s nightcap between Oklahoma State (34-19) and the victor of an elimination game featuring Indiana and Saint Louis.
