Arkansas softball notebook: Atalyia Rijo's sixth-inning homer gives Razorbacks' comeback effort needed boost

FAYETTEVILLE — The Arkansas softball team flipped proceedings in the sixth inning.

The Razorbacks trailed Oklahoma State 5-1 entering the frame, struggling to find consistency against the Cowgirls' pitchers and allowing some extended innings that grew OSU’s lead.

But something changed in the penultimate regularly-scheduled inning of Saturday’s NCAA Tournament contest at Bogle Park.

“I don’t know what it was. Maybe it was just the collective decision to just kind of flip it,” Arkansas coach Courtney Deifel said. “But they’ve done this all year. They’ve responded. It has not been a straight line for us, and they just continue to grow together and just show their character.
