Mississippi State’s Ally Perry had a top-corner finish in the 59th minute to give the Bulldogs their winning strike for a 2-1 victory over Arkansas on Tuesday at the SEC Tournament in Pensacola, Fla.
With the win, Mississippi State (12-5-1) became the first No. 8 seed to reach the SEC Tournament semifinal since Florida did it in 2018.
“The first half, I was getting opportunities. The coaches kept telling me to shoot, so I got the touch out wide and I just ripped it, to be honest,” Perry, the SEC midfielder of the year, said on SEC Network.
