FAYETTEVILLE — When Taylen Green took a low hit from Tennessee defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott late in what became a 19-14 Arkansas win last season, it looked like he might have continued playing.
He spent some time in the injury tent on the sideline, then came out and gave his coaches a thumbs-up. But Green only made it one play after re-entering the game on Arkansas’ next drive. He didn’t look right rolling out, and he was pulled again.
Backup quarterback Malachi Singleton led what was ultimately the game-winning drive.
Coach Sam Pittman initially said Green had a mild MCL injury, but further testing showed no ligament damage and Pittman described it as “more of a bone bruise.
