About a month into his tenure as the Arkansas football coach, Ryan Silverfield has done a solid job of softening the blow of the transfer portal on his roster.
In a welcome change from the mass exodus of the last few seasons, the Razorbacks have seen only a handful of departures from the program — and just a few of those were starter-level players.
The portal is technically still closed at the Division I level, though. There’s a chance that slow drip becomes a flood when this cycle’s lone transfer window opens Friday.
Of course, it’ll be a two-way street at that point, with an expected surge of news about incoming players for the first time during the Silverfield era.
