Arkansas is winding down its games in Little Rock — and it should

Arkansas has announced that its 2017 season-opener with Florida A&M will be moved from Saturday, September 2, to Thursday, August 31, at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

The Razorbacks have made War Memorial, about 190 miles from the Arkansas campus in Fayetteville, their secondary home since 1948. Those games have given fans in that part of the state a chance to see the Razorbacks. The games also were believed to help recruiting. In all, the Hogs have played 212 games in Little Rock.

The school’s contract to play at least one game in Little Rock per season goes through the 2018 season.
