Arkansas gets a good one in Rhoads

Some fans wonder why Paul Rhoads took a job as the Arkansas defensive backs coach.

To some, it seems like a major step backward for a coach who was a head coach at Iowa State for seven years and was a respected defensive coordinator at Pittsburgh and Auburn.

No matter why he felt compelled to take a $350,000 assistant job, it is a major coup for Bret Bielema and one that should pay immediate dividends for the Arkansas defense.

As for how Bielema lured Rhoads to Fayetteville, there could be a couple of logical explanations. I’m not sure how well the two coaches know each other.
