FAYETTEVILLE — Wide receiver Jalen Brown had successful surgery Saturday for a broken tibia and fibula in his left leg, an Arkansas spokesperson said Monday. It’s a season-ending injury and Brown’s timeline to return is unknown.

The redshirt sophomore suffered the injury during the third quarter of Arkansas’ 56-13 loss to then-No. 22 Notre Dame, the last game for fired coach Sam Pittman.

Brown’s left leg bent awkwardly while landing in the end zone after trying to catch a broken-up pass from quarterback Taylen Green. Brown immediately took off his helmet and clutched his lower left leg.
