FAYETTEVILLE — Beginning with the 2025 season, Arkansas football players wearing the No. 5 jersey will have a patch honoring former star running back Darren McFadden.
McFadden, who won the Doak Walker Award twice and was the Heisman Trophy runner-up in 2006 and 2007, wore No. 5 during his three-year college career.
According to a news release, the patch will be “emblazoned with [McFadden’s] initials and signature silhouette.” Wearing the patch this season will be senior defensive tackle Cam Ball and freshman wide receiver Ja’Kayden Ferguson.
Arkansas will also put up a No.
