Arkansas football rues miscues, missed opportunities in loss to Mississippi State

FAYETTEVILLE — Mississippi State backup quarterback Kamario Taylor stepped into Saturday’s game against Arkansas having attempted 4 total passes in his college career. His first passing effort Saturday was a 45-yard touchdown to Anthony Evans, who was once committed to the Arkansas football team.

Taylor, who briefly stepped in for Bulldogs starting quarterback Blake Shapen, did not give the Razorbacks any reprieve. He scored on a 20-yard rush on another drive, leading Mississippi State to touchdowns in 2 of his 3 series before Shapen returned.

“It was a concern when he came in, because a lot of our game plan this week was how to stop the running back, and then he became an issue,” Arkansas interim coach Bobby Petrino said.
