FAYETTEVILLE — Season 2 of the Arkansas offense starring quarterback Taylen Green and coordinator Bobby Petrino had an efficient premiere Saturday.
Green completed 24 of 31 passes for 322 yards and a career-high 6 touchdowns to lead Arkansas to a 52-7 victory over Alabama A&M in front of an announced season-opening crowd of 70,827 at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Attendance was based on tickets sold.
Green eclipsed his career high of 5 touchdown passes at Mississippi State last year and finished just shy of Brandon Allen’s single-game program record of 7 touchdowns against Mississippi State in 2015.
The Razorbacks scored on 7 of 8 possessions with Green leading the offense.
