FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football players had a sense of surprise as coaching changes were made last week.
One day after a 56-13 loss to Notre Dame, the Razorbacks fired coach Sam Pittman five games into his sixth season on Sept. 28. It was the first domino of mass change.
The next day, interim head coach Bobby Petrino uprooted a core of the defensive staff by firing defensive coordinator Travis Williams, co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson and defensive line coach Deke Adams.
“I think everybody had a similar reaction and feeling,” starting quarterback Taylen Green said Tuesday.
