FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football players, conducting group interviews Tuesday for the first time since the firing of Sam Pittman as coach the day after a 56-13 loss to Notre Dame on Sept. 27, expressed surprise regarding the in-season move.
“At first I was kind of shocked,” running back Mike Washington said. “I didn’t expect it to happen after that game. I didn’t expect that to happen at all. But I kind of had to have short-term memory because we still have the rest of the season to play.”
Defensive end Quincy Rhodes added, “I was kind of surprised, especially that it happened during the season.
