FAYETTEVILLE — A few Arkansas football players made available to members of the media this week gave assessments of new defensive coordinator Chris Wilson and defensive line coach Jay Hayes, a pair of veteran assistants.
Razorbacks defensive coordinator Travis Williams, co-defensive coordinator Marcus Woodson and defensive line coach Deke Adams were released Sept. 29, a day after Coach Sam Pittman was fired.
Interim coach Bobby Petrino elevated Wilson from his role as assistant defensive line coach to handle linebackers and defensive play calling and brought aboard Hayes, a long-time friend who spent 20 seasons as an NFL assistant.
